About LIHTC Atlas
LIHTC Atlas is for two groups who rarely use the same website: the developers and lenders who put tax credit deals together, and the renters looking for the apartments those deals build. Both need the same underlying facts, which HUD and the IRS publish in places that take effort to read: tract-level designations in GIS layers, property records in a national database, rules in revenue rulings and the Federal Register.
LIHTC Atlas is operated by Janover Capital LLC, a private company. The financing form goes to the Janover Capital desk, which works on commercial real estate loans. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for HUD, USDA, the IRS, any state housing finance agency or any government agency. We don’t own or manage any of the apartments listed and don’t take rental applications.
How the data is kept
- QCT and DDA checks use HUD’s own designation layers and the Census Bureau’s geocoder.
- Apartment listings come from HUD’s national LIHTC database, with the date of the copy we use.
- Credit rules quote the Internal Revenue Code, revenue rulings and revenue procedures, with dates.
- Every source and refresh step is on the data sources page.
Corrections go to hello@lihtc.loans.
